Karur Stampede: The tragic stampede at the Karur rally that took place on 27th September 2025 resulted in numerous deaths, causing widespread grief and rage on social media. Following the rally, an image of a Tweet allegedly made by actress Kayadu Lohar began circulating, in which it is shown, the actress blames actor-politician Vijay and his party TVK for the loss of life.
The Tweet, which seems to have gone viral( with More than 1 Million Views)
“My deepest condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives. I lost one of my dearest friends in the Karur rally. All of this thanks to TVK’s selfish politics. Vijay, people are not prop for your stardom. How many more lives for your hunger?”

As part of the Tweet, there was also an image attached of a crying actress, adjacently a flag for TVK, in addition to the Tweet, this amplified outrage and conspiracy suggesting Kayadu made the statement.
Investigations into the Tweet determined that it did not come from Kayadu Lohar’s official social media account, it was a professional impersonation account aimed at spreading misinformation. In addition to that, the crying image attached to the Tweet came from a video made six months ago and had nothing to do with the Karur rally.
This mix of falsified accounts and out-of-context visuals misled thousands to have the impression the actress was directly blaming Vijay and his political party for the event.
The incident is an example of how quick misinformation can spread when a sensitive event happens. Public figures, particularly celebrities, are often aimed for fake accounts that misuse their face or words to misuse for confusion and sometimes even discontent. Both fans and the general public should be reminded to verify official sources before posting anything.
Although the Karur stampede was real and tragic, the viral tweet describing blame toward Vijay then TVK through Kayadu Lohar was disingenuous. This incident is simply an example of the dangers of social media impersonation and our need to verify the facts prior to any charge when responding to an emotionally charged piece of information.
