Bollywood Remake: A recent tweet has gotten the movie fans buzzed: a Malayalam film from after 2020 will be remade into a Bollywood film starring a big actor. Fans have taken to social media to speculate about which movie will be remade as a Hindi film.
There was a series of suggestions from fans on Twitter. Some fans mentioned Ayyappanum Koshiyum, lauding the film’s well-written plot and characters. Other fans jokingly suggested Ittimani and Bazooka. The serious suggestions and sarcasm show the excitement movie fans have when talking movies online.
A Twitter user highlighted an excellent point, and it likely is Hridayam. Apparently Dharma Productions, the well-known Bollywood production company/powerhouse has acquired the rights for it. Hridayam has excellent substance in terms of a compelling story with relatable characters which performed exceptionally in the Malayalam Film Industry, so truly could be adapted into Hindi with great success.
Bollywood has been on a roll in the past few years remaking successful and total blockbusters movies from Malayalam cinema, and these movies have literally had and caused such outward success! Having said that, the Bollywood directors want to take another shot at successfully telling a good story, and most want to stay authentic to the original story, a point of convergence with Malayalam film is there is a wide range of fully fresh stories (ever so deeply embedded in emotions) which allow Bollywood and Hindi cinema to tap into that entirely antiquated, yet global viewership/fans!
With the rumored star attached, this will definitely create a lot of feedback between Malayalam filmmakers and Hindi film fans.
Meanwhile, fans and others are throwing ideas around on social, which elevates the chatter and brings it even more towards the possible announcement. Whether it is Hridayam, Ayyappanum Koshiyum, or something else altogether, we are excited that a possible Malayalam remake is causing this much stir – which coincides with the growing popularity of Malayalam cinema, or simply Malayalam films being made in a wider context or breadth to consume.
