Kantara Chapter 1 Day 2 Collections:
Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 is creating waves at the box office. Directed and acted by Rishab himself, the film stars Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under the banner of Hombale Films. The movie is a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, which was loved by audiences across India.
The film has been made on a grand scale, with Ajaneesh Loknath providing the music and Arvind Kashyap handling the cinematography. From the very beginning, there were high expectations, especially in Telugu states and Karnataka. Trade reports suggest that the film’s worldwide pre-release business touched nearly ₹440 crore, which is a huge figure. For the film to enter profits, it needs to collect around ₹850 crore gross.
On its opening day, Kantara Chapter 1 had a massive response. With paid premieres included, the movie earned nearly ₹80 crore gross worldwide. The film performed strongly in Karnataka with ₹18 crore, in Telugu states with ₹12.5 crore, and in Hindi markets with almost ₹20 crore on Day 1. Overseas, the film also collected about ₹5 crore, proving its global appeal.
On Day 2, the momentum continued. According to trade analysts, the film collected nearly ₹35 crore gross worldwide. Karnataka alone contributed ₹10 crore, Telugu states ₹6 crore, Hindi belt ₹13 crore, and Tamil Nadu and Kerala added about ₹2 crore together. Overseas, it made around ₹1.5 crore on the second day.
This means in just two days, Kantara Chapter 1 has already entered the ₹100 crore club, with total worldwide gross collections reaching about ₹115 crore. Positive reviews and strong word-of-mouth are driving the film’s success. With solid bookings across major cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi, trade experts believe the film’s collections will grow further over the weekend.
If the trend continues, Kantara Chapter 1 could become one of the biggest hits of 2025, matching or even surpassing the records set by its predecessor.
