Your PAN card is critical for identity verification. It is a ten-digit number issued by the government. You will require it to file your income tax return. You will also need your PAN for any significant financial activity. Your PAN will remain valid for your lifetime because the number is specific and unique to you. If your original card is lost, there is no need to worry. You will simply be able to request a duplicate card through an online process with little difficulty.
A duplicate card will be issued to you when you have lost, had a card stolen, or damaged an original card. You will receive the same permanent PAN number without getting a new number; you will only get a replacement physical card. The Income Tax Department will issue duplicate PAN cards, and you will apply for a replacement through the official TIN-NSDL website. It is an easy, simple, and completely online process.
You will visit the official TIN-NSDL website to begin the process. After arriving at the website, you will explore the ‘Services’ section of the site. You will then select the ‘PAN,’ and then you will choose ‘Reprint of PAN Card.’ The final step is to click on ‘Apply’ to begin the application process.
You will find that an online application form will open on your screen. You will select the correct category of ‘individual.’ You will then choose ‘application type’ for a duplicate card, and you will fill out all of the application fields in the section. You can now double-check the entire application before submission. You will receive an acknowledgment number via email.
Next, you will furnish your required personal details. Then, please choose your preferred mode of documentation submission, either online or physical mode. You can choose an e-PAN versus a physical card. The e-PAN is version is no more than your personal PAN in the form of a digital PDF. Please include a valid and active email account.
You will be directed to a secure payment website afterwards. Subsequently, you must finalize payment for the duplicates card fee. You must wait for the online payment receipt. The acknowledgement receipt will be generated subsequently by the system. Lastly, save or print the record to ensure a feature record of the transaction.
The duplicate PAN card will be send to you by post. In timings of receipt, you should expect it to arrive within 15 to 20 or so working days, at the registered address. The process is completely secure and is approved and authorized by the respective Government Agency.
