Lokah: Malayalam cinema is growing big day by day with new kinds of films. In 2024, they produced three biggest hits in the form of ‘Premalu’, ‘Manjummal Boys’, ‘Aavesham’. These films stunned the audiences across the country. This year Mohanlal’s ‘L2:Empuraan” became the biggest hit of the industry. But that record did not last long, Lokah now became the biggest hit in Malayalam cinema’s history.

Records broken by ‘Lokah’

Until today Lokah collected over 300 crores at the box office, with this figure the film became the biggest hit of Malayalam cinema. Not only that, Lokah also became the biggest grosser in Kerala, and Biggest grosser of Malayalam cinema in Telugu(Andhra Pradesh, Telangana), Tamil(Tamilnadu), and Kannada(Karnataka).  

Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen and Tovino Thomas, Sandy Master played the lead roles in the film. Dulquer Salmaan played the cameo apart from producing this film under his home banner Wayfarer films. 

Sequel ‘Lokah: Chapter ‘2’

In the first Chapter Tovino Thomas played an extended cameo in the film, he played Charlie, the vampire who is also kind of a playboy and quirky in nature. Dominic arun the director of the film decided to make the Chapter ‘2’ with him in the lead role.

Dulquer Salmaan cameo or full length role?

Not so long ago makers announced the second chapter has commenced with a special video, in that video Tovino’s character Michael is talking with Dulquer’s character Charlie about their long life span. In the end Micheal asks Charlie will he be coming back? Charlie replies we will see.

We can assume that Dulquer will be coming back in the film but as a cameo or a full length role is to be determined. Whether Dominic is planning another full length film with Dulquer with his character as central lead? It is also a big question from the audience.
