Arjun Kapoor Throws A Controversial Comment On Varun DhawanIn a recent interview, Arjun Kapoor hilariously explained that Varun Dhawan was the main reason he didn’t get much work from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
Among the Bollywood celebrities who have a close friendship off-screen are Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. Arjun recently told a fascinating story about his friendship with Varun Dhawan, admitting that while they were learning how to act, they collaborated on a short film. However, the director Varun made Arjun look foolish, which he showed Karan Johar. At one point, he ironically remarked, it could be the reason he didn’t receive additional employment from Kjo’s Dharma Productions.
In a recent interview with Galatta India, Arjun Kapoor went into further detail about the incident. He revealed that he was studying acting at Barry John’s acting school with Varun. He became the director after the Judwaa actor persuaded him to appear in the short film while they were exercising under instructor Saurabh Sachdeva. However, when Dhawan deceived Arjun, the roles were reversed.
He recalled, “Varun made a fool of me. He told me I had a good role in the seven-minute short film. We were taking acting classes back then, and he wanted to direct our final project. I thought, ‘How bad could it be?’ He wrote the script, told me I was the hero, and we started shooting. But after the shoot, I saw the edit and realized he had given himself the hero role, and I was the villain. He didn’t even tell me!”
Incredulous to see the finished product, Kapoor disclosed that the Citadel Honey Bunny star proceeded to exhibit the short film to director Karan Johar. Later on, when the filmmaker appeared with Varun Dhawan on one of his talk show episodes, it was also brought up. The Ishqzaade actor joked that it could be the cause of his previous lack of work from Dharma Productions.
Arjun Kapoor’s most recent professional appearance was in the action-packed movie Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty. He played the antagonist and won praise for his performance. The actor’s next film will be No Entry 2, directed by Anees Badass and co-stars Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh. In addition, he is working on a comedy movie called Mere Husband Ki Biwi, which also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh.
