Anand Pandit: A new member of India’s billionaire club was introduced by this year’s Hurun India Rich List. With a reputed net worth of $1.4 billion, superstar Shah Rukh Khan is currently one of the wealthiest performers in the world. Shah Rukh wasn’t the only Indian film industry figure to become a millionaire this year, either. Despite a film career that hasn’t been particularly successful at the box office, a fellow filmmaker joined him.

New Billionaire in Bollywood:

Anand Pandit, Bollywood’s new billionaire, dominates both real estate and filmmaking. He recently earned a spot on the Hurun India Rich List with a staggering net worth of ₹8,660 crore (nearly $1 billion), making him the richest individual in Bollywood. He surpassed industry icons like Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, and Salman Khan. Ronnie Screwvala ranks next on the list, followed by Shah Rukh Khan.

Who is Anand Pandit?

For the past decade, Anand Pandit has produced and distributed numerous films. He first entered film distribution with Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, and a year later, he turned producer with Great Grand Masti. Over the years, he has produced several notable films, including Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, Kabzaa, PM Narendra Modi, The Bigg Bull, and Satyameva Jayate. He also brought South Indian hits like Drishyam 2 and 2018 to the northern market, expanding his reach across industries.

Interestingly, none of the movies produced by Anand Pandit have crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the domestic box office. Yet, most of his films have performed well commercially. He founded Lotus Developers, one of Mumbai’s leading luxury real estate companies, which continues to strengthen his position as both a filmmaker and a top entrepreneur.
