Filmfare 2025 = Alia Bhattfare? Internet Reacts

Filmfare 2025: Normal- Like a year gone by, again came the Filmfare Awards nights- now to be appended with one more Best Actress trophy in Alia Bhatt’s shelf. By now, it is nearly inevitable. Along with talent, Alia’s sixth win has also opened a heated debate around favoritism and credence of Bollywood award shows.

Filmfare 2025: Then Popular Becomes Political

Given that Best Actress (Popular) is expected to encompass two parameters-the skill and populism-audience attraction has, however, become subject to ambiguity this year because Alia’s film box-office gross did not earn it the tile besting the audience’s taste. Popular as it may sound or be, questions come to the fore on what, exactly, is the popular phenomenon. That is the reason most supporters and critics feel that if it were the barometer for judging popularity, actresses from hugely successful or widely appreciated films, such as Yami Gautam-who had a performance filled with nuanced moments of power and layering-should probably have gotten a shot closer to golden lavished in this year’s awards. Rather, the same ones keep echoing with all adulation that it leaves most of the audience sorely disappointed.

Double Standards and Strange Decisions

Things gain additional troubles owing to this inconsistency. The Best Actor was tied between two not very sellable, Abhishek Bachchan and Kartik Aaryan, with the latter almost drowning commercially. However, none of these events tie up for Best Actress. Why there should be such a disparity, if Filmfare recognizes those two men as deserving of such a tie? These decisions simplify the whole deadlock as selective and biased.

A Dying Need of Reform in the System

Award shows were precious moments when one could give glory to the best of cinema, but now they are regrettably more exercises in industry politics and brand loyalty. Of course, Alia would not be personally blamed for that, but repeated wins such as hers only contribute to build public anger, not respect.

Till the time Bollywood does not rethink how it measures “best”, the Filmfare Awards remain into risk of losing even that which they still claim: a credibility of sorts.
