Television Premier

Coolie is all set for television premier on October 19th, it will be aired on Gemini TV at 6PM. Sun Pictures produced this film. Rajinikanth, Soubin Sahir, Shruthi Hassan, Satyaraj, Nagarjuna played the leads in the film. Aamir Khan appeared in a brief cameo at the end.

What went wrong with Coolie

During the audio launch of the film Rajinikanth said that his career spanning 5 decades has been a roller coaster ride, Coolie is the biggest and most important film in his career. He said that producer Kalanathi Maran gave Lokesh absolute freedom to make the film but asked only one thing in return, that is it should be the biggest film of Tamil cinema and the film should be a hit across the country.

Lokesh Responsibility 

Lokesh Kangaraj is a filmmaker who fuses Mass cinema with Hollywood style of making, this fusion is loved by one and all especially younger audience who celebrates his films. With Coolie, he made what he thought was best for Rajinikanth film, he did nothing wrong in the film, he delivered his best with the film. 

But the audience expecting something else from the film is not his fault, he unapologetically said that he will not make films based on audience expectations or to make the biggest Tamil film. That kind of intense pressure will be a pressure on the best minds in the business. So somewhere he took the responsibility too seriously and it showed in the film.
