Bollywood Cult Classic Movies: In the 1990s and early 2000s, when action-romance movies were at their height, a few comedies subtly went unnoticed and did not perform well at the box office. Their witty, unconventional humor was only ahead of its time; it wasn’t until years later that it became widely recognized. These treasures have now attained the status of cult classics, beloved by ardent admirers who continue to post their most hilarious moments on social media and recite their famous lines.


1. Andaz Apna Apna (1994):
Bollywood’s cult classic movie Andaz Apna Apna, released on November 4th, 1994, is a cult comedy movie. This movie’s main lead roles, played by Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Shakti Kapoor, and others, are still a long-time memory for most people. Initially, this film didn’t run properly in the theatres, but over the period of time, this film has gained immense love and appreciation from the audience. Today, this film is considered one of the cult classics delivered by the Bollywood industry.

2. Deewane Huye Paagal (2005):
In 20’s comedy films took off and worked out well in the theatres. Most of the films released during the early 2000s are comedy genre. During this time, Deewane Huye Paagal, featuring Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Shahid Kapoor, and many others, is now a cult classic. Initially, this film didn’t work well in the theatres and was considered a failure. Over time, the audience has understood the craft and talent invested in this film, and now this film is also considered to be one of the cult classic movies from Bollywood.

3. Khosla Ka Ghosla (2006):
Khosla Ka Ghosla, released in 2006, had one of the toughest periods for the producers, as most of people didn’t want to buy the film, as this movie feels like a real-life story rather than a scripted story. Moreover, this film has no big stars and didn’t get sold for two years. But, after two years, when the producers planned to release this film, the entire audience went mad over every scene in the movie. Now this movie is a cult classic film where most of the audience still remembers every character and every dialogue from the film. The most proud moment for the Bollywood movie lovers, this film has won the National Award for the Best Feature Film, and now this is considered to be a cult classic movie.

4. Dhol (2007):
TV audience and YouTube audience might remember “Dhol,” which was released in 2007. This movie was directed by Priyadarshan, who has delivered cult classic comedy movies. At the box office, this film has failed to work and had an average performance. Even though this film was a remake of the 1990 Malayalam original movie, and was also adapted for Bollywood in 1992. Now, after many years, people have made this film a cult classic movie for the humor and scene execution.
