Twinkle Khanna: Widespread criticism has poured in from viewers of the newly launched talk show Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle, many of whom expressed disappointment over the hosts’ behaviour. Although Kajol and Twinkle Khanna are superstar names in Bollywood, fans claim that the two often dominate the show, putting the guests in the background and even killing the discussions.
Many viewers pointed out that the hosts interrupt guest speakers to such an extent that discussions become incomplete and stories remain half-told. Some argue that this manner of hosting prevents the audience from making any meaningful engagement with the content, thus frustrating fans who yearned for a fair and informative dialogue.
Twinkle, in particular, has become the target for a barrage of brutal attacks for her humorous style. It is being said that her attempts at satire seem therefore purposely contrived of humour/exaggeration, with one-liners looking forced into situations that really did not warrant them. She has also been accused of contrasting herself as the ‘intellectual’ while labelling her husband Akshay Kumar as a ‘bimbo’, although so many viewers felt this analogy was not called for and quite unpoetic.
According to some social media users, commenting on sagging skin or making jokes that pertain to the body is more of an attempt to project being bold or forward than genuinely funny. Dingy stuff, according to fans, has only further overshadowed the authenticity of the show and lessened the experience for the viewers.
Some fans pointed out that this is one of those rare occasions in life when one could argue that perhaps for some public figures it could be advantageous to step away from their public front when they are tipped off more onto the side of criticism than of appreciation. In this case, the critics suggest that both Kajol and Twinkle Khanna need to do a rethink on what to do on the show or just even just stay away for a bit so as to allow for a guest-focused content that could attract with its engaging nature rather than dilly-dallying with self-ego.
With good followers and immense popularity, both Kajol and Twinkle can generate great conversations. The obstacle is creating a balance between their own flavor and the presence of the guest on the show to actually engage into Two Much With Kajol & Twinkle.
