SriRam Aditya
According to the latest reports Sriram Aditya who earlier made films like Devadas, Hero, and Manamey is likely to direct this sequel. He is a proper commercial cinema director. His films have beats of commercial cinema, if he takes this job, it will be interesting to see how this director showcases Sunny.
Exit of Gopichand Malineni
Jaat is directed by Gopichand Malineni, but for the sequel he is busy in the production works of upcoming Balakrishna’s action drama. That is the reason makers are looking at Sriram Aditya. As the star has given them dates and delaying the production of a hit first film will hamper the potential business angle of the film.
Jaat – a blockbuster
Released in April this month grossed over 100 crores at the box office. The film was made around 65 crores and it recovered more than twice the investment. That is the main reason makers are planning a sequel in the first place.
Plot
Jaat is a story of a nomad who gets entangled in a web of violence and corruption when his meal is spoiled by a ruffian. From there the story picks up the pace when the nomad goes deep into the web of conflicts around the village.
Possible sequel
‘Jaat’ is a character driven story and making a sequel to that character is very much possible and can be as good as the first one if the setup is handled well. We have to wait and see how Sriram Aditya handles this sequel, will he retain the essence of the first part or will he just take the blueprint and build on it.
