Producer SKN Rashmika Mandanna: Producer SKN, a big name in the Telugu film industry, recently graced the trailer launch of The Girlfriend, starring Rashmika Mandanna. His comments during the event on Rashmika’s work ethic became a hot topic.
According to SKN, Rashmika said she was willing to stretch her work hours as per the demand of the role. He praised her dedication, saying she is one of the few heroines, Pan-India-wise who are so sincere to work. “Rashmika doesn’t count her hours: she works from love and passion,” SKN further stated, adding that to the team. She is like “the girl next door.”
His remarks triggered speculation on the online platform, with fans perceiving it to be a veiled comment toward Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone. Recently Deepika had spoken out on her preference to limit film work to eight-hour days, which had set the industry talking about professionalism and work-life balance.
Through Rashmika’s praise for being willing to work outside the set hours, he was making an indirect comparison, which was deemed by many to be a soft rebuttal to Deepika’s remarks. Posts started flooding social media platforms with praise for Rashmika’s dedication: a “true professional” and “director’s dream.”
The Girlfriend, directed by Rahul Ravindran and produced by Dheeraj Mogilineni under Geetha Arts, features Rashmika Mandanna and Dixit Shetty in lead roles. Slated for release on November 7, the film presents Rashmika in a simple middle-class woman’s role.
