Though millions are now copying the happy, fluffy moves, few know that the viral craze began from a basic Instagram handle known as @huskydancedaily. Arjun, a South Indian content creator from Kerala, conceived this handle creatively. During an exclusive Asianet News interview, Arjun explained how a little concept almost overnight evolved into a global phenomenon.
Arjun has been attempting videos of his husky dancing to multiple tunes. However, the song “Ichu Ichu” matches perfectly with this energetic movement of the husky. The very first video post-copying this combination was uploaded with not much expectation and this managed to garner about 25,000 to 27,000 views. By the morning, however, the video exploded and overnight hit over a million views. This is the point when Arjun realized that he has made something unique when his followers jumped from just 100 to 1,300.
Even my first article was supposed to be casual, spontaneous, and perhaps best left without too much formality.
Arjun just said: “You know, I’ve just been trying out videos with my husky dancing to different songs and this one, which is the: “Ichu Ichu,” goes perfectly along with this energetic movement of the husky. This first video post using the combination got about 25,000 to 27,000 views. By the morning, however, the video exploded and overnight hit over a million views. This was the point when Arjun realized that he had created something uniquely beautiful: his followers jumped from just 100 to 1,300.
Inspired by the abrupt increase in interest, Arjun uploaded sixteen more videos the next day- all of which went viral. Users started marking his page, working together, and even copying the trend themselves soon. The Husky Dance rapidly went beyond boundaries and started to get popularity worldwide. Currently, the site has over 150 million all views and 88,000 members.
Celebrities have also noticed the trend right now. Actor Vijay Antony followed the trend lately by sharing his own rendition of the Husky Dance. Following him, actress Sameera Reddy messaged Arjun via Instagram to express her hope to work on the trend.
Originally a lighthearted experiment by a Keralite inventor, what started as one has evolved into a worldwide movement proving once more that originality, when combined with genuineness, may make the internet dance.
