Earthquake in Vizag Overnight:

Many people in Visakhapatnam (Vizag), Andhra Pradesh, reported feeling tremors late at night, sparking concerns about an earthquake. Social media users took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their experiences, saying that the shaking lasted for a few seconds and felt quite strong.

According to the independent tracking website Volcano Discovery, a “seismic-like event” was recorded around 10:49 pm GMT, which is 4:19 am IST. The website mentioned that it could be a possible earthquake in the Vizag region. However, it added that there were no details available yet regarding the magnitude or depth of this event.

While several people online reported the tremors, no official confirmation has come from the National Center for Seismology (NCS). As of now, the NCS has not issued any statement or update about any earthquake in Andhra Pradesh. The latest information shared by NCS on its official platform was related to an earthquake in Russia’s Kamchatka region, not India.

Locals in Vizag have expressed concern and confusion since the tremors were unexpected and happened during early morning hours. Some residents reported mild vibrations, while others said objects in their homes slightly moved. However, there have been no reports of damage or injuries so far.

Authorities are yet to verify whether the incident was indeed an earthquake or just a minor ground vibration caused by other factors such as mining or construction activity.

For now, people in Vizag are advised not to panic and to follow official updates from the NCS and local authorities for accurate information. As investigations continue, more details are expected to be released soon.
