Raja Saab Release Update: Prabhas’ long-awaited romantic fantasy Raja Saab has been making noise not just for its mega canvas but also for the suspense surrounding its release date. Initially, the movie was expected to hit the screens during Pongal 2026, but now it looks more likely to be pushed to summer 2026, dependent on several pending factors.
As per the industry buzz, the OTT deal of Raja Saab is not done yet. Sources have stated that IVY Company should clear around ₹220 crore payment before financial closure of the project. Only after Adhi states the No Objection Certificate (NOC) will the digital rights deal be sealed. Without this clearance, both the theatrical release date and non-theatrical business cannot fully confirm.
According to sources from the production, a large part of CG is still pending. The movie is fantasy-driven visuals and large-scale action sequences, so the VFX team is striving day and night to match the quality expectations drawn for a Prabhas film. However, insiders have concerns that two months might not be enough for the completion of the post-production tasks prior to Pongal.
Regardless, Raja Saab may not need aggressive marketing as most big-budget films start promotions months in advance. “Promotions are not necessary as he is a cut-out promotion,” said an insider. With Prabhas’ colossal fanbase, every single project he does gets a lot of natural hype, so word-of-mouth may create buzz for the film.

A Pongal 2026 release seems possible if the CG work and OTT formalities finalize on time. But if they keep delaying, fans should prepare to wait until summer 2026. Either way, Raja Saab remains one of the most awaited Indian releases of next year.
