Shanaya Kapoor: Among Bollywood’s star kids from the younger generation, it seems that Shanaya Kapoor-the daughter of the actor Sanjay Kapoor-has started off despite creating much controversy. It appears that even before its elaborate beginning, her job perspective is losing steam with the heritage and contacts.
Shanaya’s highly awaited first film, Vedaa, with Vikrant Massey, was meant to provide her with a strong introduction into popular movies. But the movie garnered little marketing and failed to create much buzz on launch. Neither critics nor viewers seemed to interact with the initiative, therefore it was left to disappear slowly.
Initially drawing interest with its trailer, promising an emotional, youthful love tale, Tu Ya Main, her next film co-starring Adarsh Gourav Still, there hasn’t been any follow-up information on its release or distribution since its preview, aggravating the impression that Shanaya’s professional path has come to a standstill.
There has been speculation that Shanaya has been rejected by multiple casting directors and production companies, including high-profile ones like Maddock Films, who’ve passed on her for substantial roles. It appears that Shanaya is a little different. She has missed opportunities even given her family’s reputation in the industry, even though other star kids like Janhvi Kapoor or Ananya Panday are afforded numerous opportunities due to nepotism.
Industry insiders believe her fight could come from a combination of timing, competition, and absence of clearly defined identity. Audiences have become less forgiving of untested “nepo children” in an age when even seasoned performers are under review for mediocrity.
Whether Shanaya Kapoor can overcome this early stagnancy remains to be seen, but Bollywood is not as tolerant of legacy as it once was.
