Massive Fire Near Delhi Rithala Metro Station: One Child Injured, Dozens of Huts Burnt

Delhi Rithala Metro Station:

A serious fire accident took place in Delhi on Friday night (November 7) near Rithala Metro Station in Rohini. According to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), the fire started around 10:56 p.m. in a slum area close to the Bengali settlement between Rithala Metro and the Delhi Jal Board. The fire quickly spread to many nearby huts, creating panic among the residents.

Delhi Rithala Metro Station:

Authorities immediately sent 15 fire engines to the location, and later, the number increased to 29 as the flames intensified. The firemen worked tirelessly to bring the situation under control. DFS officer S.K. Dua confirmed that one child was seriously injured in the incident and was taken to a hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Preliminary reports suggest that multiple LPG cylinders exploded, which caused the fire to spread rapidly. The explosions added to the panic, and many residents rushed to save their belongings from the burning huts. Media reports said dozens of huts were completely destroyed in the fire.

Police arrived quickly and cordoned off the entire area to prevent further chaos. Additional fire engines were kept on standby to ensure that the fire did not spread to nearby buildings. Rescue operations were carried out in coordination with the police and fire teams.

Eyewitnesses said locals were seen trying to save whatever they could as their homes turned to ashes. Despite the huge loss of property, the timely action of firefighters prevented a major tragedy. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but officials suspect that the LPG explosions played a major role in worsening the flames.

The Delhi Fire Department has urged residents in the area to stay alert and report any unsafe storage of gas cylinders to avoid similar accidents in the future.
