Explosives Found In Faridabad:
A tragic explosion occurred near Delhi’s historic Red Fort on Monday night, leaving 13 people dead and 24 others injured. The incident took place near Gate 1 of the Lal Qila Metro Station, one of the busiest areas in the national capital.
According to Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, a small car stopped at a traffic signal around 6:52 PM when it suddenly exploded. The blast was so powerful that nearby vehicles caught fire, and several people were injured. Horrifying visuals showed damaged cars, scattered debris, and eyewitnesses describing body parts lying on the road.
Home Minister Amit Shah immediately spoke with Delhi Police officials and briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the situation. Police, fire, and forensic teams rushed to the site, while ambulances transported the injured to nearby hospitals. Authorities are now working to secure the area and collect evidence to determine the cause of the explosion.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police are jointly investigating the incident. So far, the nature of the blast is still unclear, but the high intensity suggests that it could have involved explosives. Security has been tightened across Delhi and along the Indo-Nepal border.
Interestingly, this blast came just hours after the Jammu and Kashmir Police discovered nearly 3,000 kg of explosives in Faridabad, Haryana. The explosives were found in houses linked to two doctors from Jammu and Kashmir Adil Rather and Muzammil Shakeel who were allegedly connected to terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
Investigators are trying to determine if there is any link between the Faridabad explosives and the Red Fort blast. Several suspects, including a woman doctor, have been arrested in connection with the Faridabad case.
This marks the third major explosion near Red Fort since 1997, raising serious concerns about Delhi’s security preparedness. Authorities have urged the public to stay calm and report any suspicious activity as the investigation continues.
