Telangana Police iBomma Ravi: iBomma’s arrest has evoked curiosity within the common people: Was family of Ravi involved somehow, or was it a case of extreme cyber tracking? The Telangana Police have made the sequence of events clear and transparent in order to shed light on the operation.
DCP Kavitha said that the investigators were getting nowhere in their search as Ravi had completely cut off any form of contact with his family. Since there were no calls, no visits, and no systematically traceable movements from those concerned with his household, police could not use the connections to chase him down. This immediately ruled out the possibility of someone from the family raising the alarm.
The breakthrough was a cyber trail, not a tip-off from Ravi’s wife or his family. Police had already been monitoring one of Ravi’s close friends in Hyderabad for a digital slip. That moment came when the friend received a WhatsApp message directly from Ravi.
The message was brief but said a lot:
Ravi informed his friend that he had reached Hyderabad.
This one act of communication after such a long time allowed the police to trace his movement live.
Quick Move By Police After the WhatsApp Message
As soon as the message appeared on the monitored device, the Cyber Crime team acted. They used digital surveillance and tracking tools to assess Ravi’s presence within the city, arresting him without any delay.
Confirming this, DCP Kavitha states:
“It was the WhatsApp message that led us to him. Only later did we learn he even had a family.”
While speculations were on about family involvement, police have clearly stated:
iBomma Ravi was caught through cyber tracking and not family involvement.
