Mahesh Babu Remuneration: Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu is currently working on director S.S. Rajamouli’s next big project. Expectations are very high because this is the first time Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli are teaming up. The film is still in production, and it is clear that Rajamouli is planning it on a global scale. As part of this, a special event called Globe Trotter was recently held, where the title of the film was officially announced.
Mahesh Babu’s Remuneration for Varanasi:
The title of the film has been confirmed as Varanasi. The team also announced that the movie will be released in the summer of 2027. Meanwhile, a new update related to the film has gone viral. Since the film is being made on a global level, there is a lot of discussion about Mahesh Babu’s remuneration. Reports say Mahesh normally charges more than ₹70 crore per film and even received ₹78 crore for his previous movie Guntur Kaaram.
Remuneration as a Yearly Salary:
However, for Varanasi, it is being reported that Mahesh Babu is following a different payment method. Instead of a one-time remuneration, he is said to be taking a yearly salary for the entire duration of the project. Since Rajamouli’s films usually take two to three years to complete, Mahesh Babu is expected to receive the same salary every year until the movie is finished. This arrangement has surprised many fans.

Rajamouli in Controversy:
Soon after the title announcement, Rajamouli found himself in controversy. Several Hindu groups have filed complaints against him after he reportedly said during the film’s launch event that he “does not believe in God.” These comments upset many religious organizations. Moreover, the production house Ramabhakt Hanuma Creation filed a complaint with the Film Chamber. They claimed that they had already legally registered the title Varanasi and released a poster earlier, questioning why Rajamouli used the same title without consulting them.
