Other signs require attention:
Start with the Bhujangasana to enhance the strength of your lungs. The cobra pose expands your chest and produces a significant increase in lung capacity. Start by lying on your stomach. Hands should be placed near the shoulders. Take full deep breaths and lift. Continue this for about two to four minutes.
Anulom Vilom is an alternate nostril breathing exercise that helps tremendously to increase oxygen in your body naturally. Sit up straight with a relaxed posture. Use your thumb to close your right nostril. Slowly inhale through your left nostril. Now, with your ring finger or pinkie on your left nostril, close your left nostril and exhale through your right nostril. Continue this for the left and right sided nostril.
These breathing exercises help to clear and open your respiratory passages. They help improve the function of your whole lung system. It also makes it easier to take a deeper breath and allows for better distribution of the oxygen to the body. Finally, when we do these breathing exercises daily you will see tremendous improvement over time.
This is a big ‘no’ to smoking altogether. Minimize exposure to air pollution. Wear a mask in dirty, dusty environments. Learn how to do breathing exercises, and practice them daily. Practice good indoor air quality.
See a physician or seek help if the symptoms presented last longer than a couple of weeks. A professional diagnosis is always best. Seeking treatment sooner is always better than later. It’s important not to ignore any chronic breathing issues. You may need the proper medical response from doctors, such as a clinician.
Eat properly and consume nutritious foods every day. Stay active on a regular basis. Practice yoga and pranayama techniques. Minimize the exposure to respiratory irritants. Maintain a clean home and environment.
