Top 5 Paranormal Games You Should Never Play: Spine-Chilling Rituals Explained

Top 5 Paranormal Games You Should Never Play: Paranormal games existed across all cultures and generations; they lured thrill-seekers into trying out contact beyond the physical world. Many have come to view these rituals as myths or urban legend, but still, their eerie rules and disturbing outcomes are just enough smart scaring even to prevent the bravest from trying them out. Every one of these most discussed paranormal games not only has a story about them but carries its own subtly disturbing danger.

1. Challenge Charlie Charlie

An innocuous combination of two pencils crossed on a sheet with the words ‘yes’ and ‘no’ has become one of the Internet world’s top horrors. The participants then must call out, “Charlie, Charlie, are you here?” hoping for no answer, but legend has it that should the pencil be moved, a spirit named Charlie has influenced matters — one that will not simply quit.

2. The Answer Man

Ten people must dial the exact same number at once for this ritual to work. If one caller connects, the voice on the other end isn’t human. The Answer Man will tell the truth on your question, but he never answers for free. Those who try say that the ‘price’ he asks for afterward is so much worse than the curiosity that began it.

3. Kokkuri-san

Often identified as the Japanese Ouija, Kokkuri-san involves a coin on a board inscribed with hiragana letters. While the players look for guidance, this spirit invoked is said to linger unless he has been properly dismissed. Not saying goodbye is the greatest mistake because it was believed to invite the spirit into one’s life permanently.

4. Hitori Kakurenbo

This ritual consists of a stuffed doll filled with rice and private DNA components such as nail clippings. The game starts at 3 a.m. and when the participant says “I’m it.” Legends claim that if the closing steps are done incorrectly this doll will continue its search long after the game is over.

5. Daruma-san

Played by midnight, with the light out, in a very dark bathroom, the ritual begins with the words: “Daruma-san fell”. These who have dared testify to a feeling of presence just behind themselves after an attempt. The next day after declaring, that spirit trails behind the player — and the only way out is to keep from that spirit direct gaze.
