The last season will unfold in phases-with the first part arriving on November 27 in the UK, the next one on Boxing Day, and finally, a power-drenched climax come the dawn of New Year’s Day. The hype is already huge, with previous seasons accumulating more than 400 million viewing hours just this year, making it clear that an emotional rollercoaster is in store for the audience as they prepare for the emotional and explosive farewell.
With so much cultural heft, the creators have gone through heavy pressure while making the final road. There is an enormous shadow suspended upon others that have divided audiences with their endings, but the Duffers have maintained focus. “Every character’s ending needed to feel right,” Matt Duffer states. “That mattered more than giving the fans the ending they think they want; honestly, I don´t even go online, so I don´t know what people are expecting.”
