Annapurna & Ramanaidu Studios: GHMC has issued notices to Annapurna Studios and Ramanaidu Studios after finding that both were paying very low trade license fees. Officials say the studios showed a smaller business area to avoid higher taxes. Annapurna Studio was supposed to pay ₹11.52 lakh, but paid only ₹49,000, while Ramanaidu Studios had to pay ₹1.92 lakh but paid only ₹1,900. GHMC Circle 18 officials confirmed the discrepancies and ordered both studios to pay the full fee.
Both studios earn significant revenue through floor-wise rentals, charging ₹50,000 to ₹80,000 per day depending on the film. They charge different rates for set work and shooting. For DI (Digital Intermediate) work, the studios charge ₹300 to ₹600 per hour, based on the technician. They also operate dubbing studios, sound-mixing units, music units, and other post-production services, with charges varying depending on the movie.
The popular reality show Bigg Boss is also produced here, managed by Endemol, which pays around ₹1.60 crore to ₹2 crore per year in lease. On average, the studios see around 20 shooting days per month and have four shooting floors available. The Bigg Boss’s house is located right next to the studio premises.
