Kiara Advani To Headline In a Horror Comedy Under Maddock Films

Maddock Films revealed eight interrelated forthcoming films that will be released over the next four years on January 2, marking an ambitious expansion of its popular Horror Comedy Universe. This year’s schedule starts with two films: Shakti Shalini opens in theaters on December 31 and Thama opens over Diwali weekend.

Kiara Advani To Headline In a Horror Comedy

Kiara Advani will be the main attraction in Shakti Shalini, while Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal feature in Thama. In this spooky comedy, which is scheduled to begin production in April or May 2025, the Kabir Singh actress will portray the title role. Like past films in the series, the movie is inspired by Indian legend, but it will take a different narrative tack, differentiating it from its Horror-Comedy Universe predecessors.

The fact that Dinesh Vijan has enlisted renowned director Ajitpal Singh to helm Shakti Shalini is another indication of how unique it would be. Given his skill at telling gripping, emotionally charged stories, the Punjab-born director is an intriguing choice for a horror comedy. He is well-known for helming critically acclaimed films such as Tabbar, a SonyLIV series about a retired police constable who goes to extreme lengths to protect his family from the fallout from a tragic incident, and Fire in the Mountains, which debuted at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. Additionally, Singh directed Rammat-Gammat, a short film that took home a prize at the 2018 Oberhausen International Short Film Festival.

Alongside Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Kiara Advani is the newest member of the Maddock Horror-comedy Universe’s elite female cast. After Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and Thama, Shakti Shalini is the fifth stand-alone film in the universe.

Kiara Advani has recently been seen in the most awaited movie of Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’. The movie was released on January 10th. Though the movie was doing well at the box office it is receiving mixed reviews from the viewers.
