iBomma Ravi Arrest Explained: The iBomma founder Imandi Ravi, popularly known as iBomma Ravi, has turned the sharpest cybercrime probe into one of the most thrilling investigations in recent time-and it is turning out to be secret surveillance, cross-border tracking, mysterious emails, and a paper trail that digitizes everything, it feels like a full-fledged film crime thriller in the form of this case. The five-day custody of Ravi has concluded; now his bail petition waits for hearing in court, but the outstanding journey really is the path leading to it.
The Cyber Crime Police initiated the investigation by gingerly assembling the server details, domain records, and IP addresses connected with the hacked uploads of films. Their matter-of-factness meant trying to track behind at least 65 dark sites that were allegedly functioning through an American company owned by Ravi, ER Infratech.
In the beginning, the officers considered the nodal officer mentioned in domain communications only to be a mere representative. It took a sudden turn when the so-called “nodal officer” boldly posed to the police, demanding proof of the existence of pirated content on iBomma and its mirror sites.
This was the first major red flag.
Once the police traced the nodal officer emails from an ER Infratech connected individual, suspicion intensified. They finally discovered that that officer was actually Ravi himself, trying to obscure operations under the cover of an American entity. He relied on this same company for defense, believing it would all keep him safe, but it was this same company that bared him to the world.
Ravi then knew the danger was at hand with the understanding that police had been hot on his trail. He had been preparing his own travel through the Netherlands to Poland and then to France while also interrogating officers in their questioning by asking whether or not they had gone outside the country to track him.
But the police had no need to follow him abroad.
They waited.
Ravi, having failed to receive any emails from the police, thought the threat was over. Overconfident, he returned Hyderabad. Little did he know that cybercrime officials had already been silently observing his movements. As soon as he reached his residence, the team executed their pre-planned arrest operation.
