Rana Daggubati, Venkatesh Daggubati, and Family Face Criminal Charges. In a surprising development, actors Rana Daggubati, Venkatesh Daggubati, and other family members were charged with a crime.
After the Hyderabad police filed a criminal complaint against Rana Daggubati and his uncle Venkatesh, as well as a number of other Daggubati family members, they made headlines. The case’s history began last year when the family was reportedly implicated in the unlawful demolition of a property.
For those who are unaware, the Deccan Kitchen Hotel in Hyderabad’s Film Nagar was purportedly destroyed by Venkatesh Daggubati and other family members.
According to records and sources, the Daggubati family owned this property, while Nanda Kumar was the tenant. The GHMC initially demolished a portion of this property in November 2022, along with other nearby buildings built by Kumar, claiming they were not authorized.
The Nampally Court then asked the GHMC to explain this move in July 2023 and ordered that the status quo be maintained. However, in January 2024, the Daggubati family pressured Nanda Kumar to entirely demolish the property, in violation of the stay order.
Additionally, Kumar stated in his statement that he lost Rs. 20 crore as a result of the hotel’s demolition. As a result, the Hyderabad police filed a case against the Daggubati famil. The High Court ordered an investigation to be conducted.
In addition to Rana and Venkatesh, the Baahubali actor’s father, Suresh Rana, and brother, Daggubati Abhiram, are also facing charges under sections 448, 452, 458, and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
On the work front, Rana played a part in superstar Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. Venkatesh Daggubati’s film Sankranthiki Vasthunam is scheduled to release on 14th January 2025. Now that the actor has found himself in legal trouble there might be a chance that the film might get postponed.
