HJS Files Complaint Against Ranveer Singh: Issues relating to Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh have grown huge controversies recently with the filing of a big complaint against him by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). It all started off with his performance in the IFFI 2025 closing ceremony, where the actor reenacted a certain scene from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara – Chapter 1, particularly a moment suffused with adoration for Goddess Chamundadevi from the daiva tradition. This performance, although meant for being lively, turned up into massive cultural storm soon.
For it was by the complaints lodged that Ranveer’s imitation came disfavorably into terms with the goddess since the daiva performer apparently invokes divine presence in his spiritual practice in the region. They have called him making cheap of sacred act when on performance he also went to saying that the deity is a “female ghost.”
Then again, in many communities, the daiva tradition constitutes much more than mere cinema and is considered a centuries-old way of expression as far as religions and culture are concerned; anything that misrepresents it will be a serious insult to such communities. a public apology from ranveer was thus demanded arguing that culture and religions were very, very hurt.

Contrarily, sections of supporters of Ranveer defended his action on a point that he had presumably tried to make a mere fun act. However, most voices went HJS to concern cultural sensitivities with accountability in artistic expression.
Now that the case has been filed, authorities will be investigating the charges. Whether there will be a public apology from Ranveer now becomes a huge tricky question without a doubt: people have a great concern regarding wrongful expression of sacred tradition in public.
