On World Cancer Day, February 4, 2025, several Bollywood celebrities emphasized the critical importance of early cancer detection and timely treatment.

 


Emraan Hashmi shared his personal experience, recalling the period when his son, Ayaan, was diagnosed with cancer. He highlighted how early detection and prompt treatment were pivotal in Ayaan’s recovery. Emraan also lauded government initiatives like Ayushman Bharat and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) for making cancer treatment more accessible and affordable for millions across India. He urged everyone to undergo regular screenings and raise awareness to ensure timely care for all.

 

Hina Khan, who was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2024, has been open about her journey. In her first public statement after the diagnosis, she expressed determination to overcome the disease, sharing the message, “This too shall pass.” Her openness has inspired many and underscored the significance of early detection.

 

Other celebrities, including Tahira Kashyap and Sonali Bendre, both cancer survivors, also shared their experiences. They emphasized the importance of early detection and timely treatment, encouraging regular health check-ups and awareness.
