Aamir Khan also said that he knew that Talaash would fail, But he revealed the real reason behind his decision to do it.

Aamir Khan did a film called ‘Talaash’ in 2012. This film is the story of Inspector Surjan Singh Shekhawat (Aamir Khan) investigating a popular film star’s death. Before he can solve the complicated case, he has to face his suppressed grief and deal with Rosie — a sex worker and murderer. This film featured Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Rani Mukherji in lead roles.

Talking about this film, Aamir Khan said, ”I already knew Talaash would fail at the box office. But I still did it’. Further explaining the situation, Aamir said, “I liked the story very much, and I wanted to do it anyways. Because there is a limited portrayal of every emotion. There is revenge, there is pain, but the story went with very minimal emotional portrayal. Obviously, it needed more, but I did it because I loved the story even after I knew that this won’t work out’.

So, this crime thriller didn’t do well because the audience wanted meaningless love stories. Aamir Khan doesn’t do films for money alone but also for the meaning, depth, and story.
