Aamir Khan Reveals What Really Went Wrong with Dhoom 3

Aamir Khan Reveals What Really Went Wrong with Dhoom 3

Dhoom 3 Mistakes: Aamir Khan has addressed the issues that plagued Aditya Chopra’s highly acclaimed Dhoom 3 series. The 2013 movie was written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra. It starred Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, and Katrina Kaif.

In a recent interview with Mashable, Aamir Khan revealed that the original plan included the return of Rimi Sen’s character, Sweety Dixit, who played Abhishek Bachchan’s on-screen wife. However, director Acharya and producer Aditya Chopra eventually decided to remove the character from the script.

Aamir said the movie could have been stronger, as it initially featured Sweety, Jai Dixit’s wife from the first two films.

Aamir Khan’s Response to Dhoom 3:

He stated, “Dhoom 3 behtar ho sakti thi,” while discussing the same topic. “Sweety ka, jo part 1 aur 2 mein hai, woh character original script mein tha. Ek kirdaar tha jo Jai Dixit ki wife ka part tha. Adi aur Victor ko laga woh zaruri nahi hai, toh unhone nikaal diya. Shot hi nahi kiya. Galati ki mere hisaab se woh unhone.” (Dhoom 3 could have been better. Parts 1 and 2 featured Sweety, who was also part of the original script as Jai Dixit’s wife. But Adi and Victor felt she wasn’t necessary, so they removed her. They didn’t even shoot those scenes. In my opinion, that was a mistake.)

“Abhi toh wife ka character hi nahi hai naa,” he continued. “Usko divorce dene waali hai, yeh tha wife jo hai woh. Yahi hota hai, start usse.” (Now, there’s no mention of the wife at all. In the original version, she wanted to divorce him. That’s how the story originally began.)

Dhoom 3 Mistakes by Producer:

The Sitaare Zameen Par actor opened up about how the script of Dhoom 3 might have been altered to benefit the producers. He pointed out that Sweety’s character appeared angry with her husband, a Mumbai police officer, for repeatedly ignoring her and skipping meaningful occasions like her birthday and Karva Chauth. Aamir Khan explained that Abhishek’s character tries to make amends by finally planning the long-overdue honeymoon. Just as their relationship begins to heal, Jai receives an urgent call about a new case in Chicago, forcing him to choose between duty and personal life. Aamir added that as Abhishek’s character prepares to leave for the honeymoon, he might even run into the police commissioner in the restroom to receive a quick case update. He emphasized that this subplot could have created a stronger emotional connection between the audience and Jai’s character.

Titled Dhoom 3, the third installment in the hit action-crime franchise features Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Siddharth Nigam, and Jackie Shroff in key roles.
