Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is known for his perfectionism and dedication to cinema. However, even the biggest stars face setbacks, and for Aamir, the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha was a tough blow. The actor recently revealed that he went into depression after the film did not perform well at the box office.

Released in August 2022, Laal Singh Chaddha was an official remake of Forrest Gump and had been one of Aamir’s most ambitious projects. The film took years to make and had high expectations. However, it failed to connect with audiences and under performed at the box office. Aamir, who had poured his heart into the film, admitted that he took the failure very personally.

Laal Singh Chaddha, which was directed by Advait Chandan, is about a Sikh man who, while eating golgappas, discusses his life story with other travelers. Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya, Mona Singh, and Manav Vij all have significant roles in the movie in addition to Aamir Khan.

Speaking about his emotional struggle, Aamir Khan said, “When my films don’t work, I feel sad. Film-making is tough, and sometimes things don’t go as planned. In Laal Singh Chaddha, my performance was a bit too high, and it didn’t work as well as Tom Hanks’ version.”

“When my films fail, I go into a sort of depression for two to three weeks. Then, I sit with my team, analyze what went wrong, and learn from it. I really value my failures because they push me to do better,” Aamir added.

Aamir also shared that during depressive phases, he take time off from work to focus on himself and his family. He realized that he had been so absorbed in his career that he had neglected his personal life. This period of reflection helped him come out of depression and understand that failures are a part of life.
