“I was depressed when I was getting divorced from my first wife Reena Dutta. I loved her very much. We were very close. However, due to some reasons, we had to separate. Was very sad when I separated from Reena and became addicted to alcohol, and went through three years of hell. I stayed away from shootings because I couldn’t focus on work. Mostly used to sit alone at home and suffer, also couldn’t even sleep properly. I didn’t know who to tell my pain to, how to reduce it and got used to alcohol to reduce the pain in my heart. I used to drink a full bottle every day because and was addicted to it. At that time, my condition was like that of a god. I fell into severe depression. It took me a long time to come out of it. Finally, I realized and learned to continue life even though the people I loved were not around,” Aamir Khan shared his pain.
Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta got married in 1986. The couple has a son, Junaid, and a daughter, Aira. They divorced in 2002. Aamir later married Kiran Rao for the second time. They divorced in 2021. Aamir Khan is currently living with a girlfriend named Gauri. Gauri, who hails from Bangalore, is already married and has a son. Aamir became close to her after divorcing her husband.
