In a recent interview, Alia noted that she had had to endure unsolicited comments and advice regarding the shedding of “postpartum” weight. “There is a lot of pressure on women to bounce back immediately after childbirth, and social media usually amplifies these unrealistic standards. I was breastfeeding and there is a lot of calories burning during that” said Alia. The troll comments affected her, but they also gave her the motivation to talk about the struggles women encounter during their recovery period.
Advocate of Body Positivity
Alia emphasized the need for self-love and patience. According to her, “Your body has gone through miraculous changes, so care, not criticism, is what it deserves.” She urged her fans and especially new mothers to keep themselves ahead of society. This message by Alia was in line with many women under similar pressures, who face issues regarding body image after childbirth.
Focus More on Health rather than Numbers
Alia also added that her priority was health along with nutrition and bonding with her child rather than rushing into weight loss. In her opinion, women do not need to compare themselves to others, as all women’s lives after pregnancy differ.
