It is reported that the names of famous South Indian heroines are being considered for the role of Draupadi.

However, it is reported that no one has yet been selected for the pivotal character of Draupadi, and this role is expected to go to a South Indian actress.
The South Indian film industry has established a reputation for effectively depicting Hindu mythology. Recently, mythological films from South Indian directors, such as “Karthikeya 2” and “Hanuman,” have gained popularity among North Indian audiences. In contrast, the Bollywood film “Adipurush” faced severe criticism and was deemed a failure. This further reinforces the notion that only the South can successfully create mythology-based films. Against this backdrop, Aamir Khan’s announcement of the Mahabharata project has garnered significant attention.
It is worth noting that a film adaptation of “Ramayan,” starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, is also in the works in Bollywood. Aamir Khan’s initiative to produce the Mahabharata has therefore become particularly significant. Meanwhile, director SS Rajamouli has expressed that the Mahabharata is his dream project, and he intends to bring it to life someday. Recently, at the pre-release event of “Hit 3,” he mentioned that he would definitely include hero Nani in his dream project.
