Due to allegations that she murdered her ex-boyfriend and his buddy, Aliya Fakhri was detained in New York.
To the suspected killing of her ex-boyfriend and his friend in Queens, where she allegedly set fire to a two-story garage, Aliya Fakhri, the sister of actress Nargis Fakhri, has been placed under arrest. Her next court appearance is scheduled for December 9, 2024, and she has been placed under remand in detention.
Aliya Fakhri, Nargis Fakhri’s younger sibling, is 43 years old. Aliya, the daughter of Pakistani Mohammed Fakhri and Czech Marie Fakhri, was raised in Queens, New York. Her father died soon after her parents’ divorce when she was a small child. According to recent India Today reporting, Nargis has not communicated with Aliya for the past 20 years.
According to the New York Daily News, on the morning of November 23, Aliya Fakhri showed up at the garage and yelled, “You are all going to d*e today” at Jacobs, who was sleeping at the time. The building caught fire a few moments later. A grand jury indicted Aliya on four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder, and four counts of arson.
According to several sources, Aliya’s mother has stated that she feels Aliya’s actions may have been influenced by her daughter’s struggles with opiate addiction after a dental accident.
“This defendant ruthlessly killed two people by starting a fire that trapped them inside,” said District Attorney Melinda Katz, who detailed the murder. According to the Daily News, the victims tragically passed away from thermal injuries and smoke inhalation.
According to news reports, Aliya was envious of her ex-boyfriend’s developing relationship with his female companion. She therefore burned the home down and abandoned the two to perish out of jealousy.
In the meantime, Edward Jacobs’ mother revealed that although though he and Aliya had broken up a year earlier, Aliya reportedly continued to make an effort to get back in touch with him. According to The Post, she also explained that Jacobs and Ettienne were friends rather than romantically linked.
According to eyewitnesses, Aliya and Jacobs had an aggressive relationship. Despite first escaping the flames, Ettienne returned to the flaming structure to attempt to save Jacobs, according to one witness.
