Filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia, who has worked on Shootout at Lokhandwala, Mission Istaanbul, and Haseena Parkar, among other movies, recalls his time spent filming the action thriller Ek Ajnabee in 2005 with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Apoorva talked about his trip to a Bangkok strip club with Big B.
In an recent interview Apoorva Lakhia mentioned about Amitabh Bachchan visiting to Bangkok. He said to MR. Big B that “Sir, this is Patpong, there are live shows here if i take you, there will be riots. He said “No we will go. so i said let’s go.” The pair went to a red-light area with other cast members, including Arjun Rampal, Vikram Chatwal, Perizaad Zorabian, and Bunty Walia.
Apoorva went on to say, “Amit ji was wearing a Thai dhoti-like garment and a shirt that was buttoned down almost all the way. We are heading to Exotic Pu**y, the name of the club where all these performances take place, while he is strolling about Patpong. Amit ji had never witnessed a spectacle like this before. Imagine that the Indians there went volient when we brought Amit ji for the concert.
Amitabh Bachchan described the event as “mind-blowing,” he said in closing. Around 2:30–3 in the morning, the group returned after their crazy night.
For those who haven’t seen it, Ek Ajnabee is a reimagining of Tony Scott’s Man on Fire, which is based on the same-titled novel. The character Big B portrayed was Col. Suryaveer “Surya” Singh. Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, and Abhishek Bachchan also made appearances in the movie.
Amitabh Bachchan has recently worked with Rajinikanth in “Vettaiyan”. Big B also shared screen with Fahadh Fasil and Rana Daggubati. His next appearance will be in Section 84, a courtroom drama directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and starring with Diana Penty, Nimrat Kaur and Abhishek Banerjee. His is presently hostly Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. In the recent roumors he will be going to work with Deepika Padukone. Lets see his upcoming projects.
