Arjun Kapoor Admits Vikrant Massey Outshined Him in Half Girlfriend. Arjun Kapoor discusses his personal opinions about his role in the Shraddha Kapoor film Half Girlfriend in a recent interview. Known for being open and honest, Arjun Kapoor never backs down from criticism. Instead, he talks about it candidly and acknowledges his shortcomings. After rewatching his performance in Mohit Suri’s Half Girlfriend, the actor acknowledged that Vikrant Massey, who had a supporting role, was a greater actor than he was.

Arjun Kapoor shared his candid thoughts regarding his portrayal of Madhav Jha in Half Girlfriend in an interview with Galatta Plus. He acknowledged that the genuineness of his dialogue delivery was impacted by his dubbing for the movie. The actor who was required to dub the movie wished he didn’t have to learn and speak a Bihari dialect.

He said, “I wish I didn’t have to dub for Half Girlfriend with the dialect. I think I did a good job on the set, but then, unfortunately, I had to dub. I am not somebody who is very fond of dubbing because it undermines honesty at that moment. ”

At the beginning of the shoot, Kapoor said, he did well on set using the Bihari dialect. But during the dubbing sessions, he was unable to achieve the same magic in the studio. He wished he didn’t have to go through the procedure because he didn’t like it.

However, he thought Vikrant Massey, who portrayed a supporting character, was a stronger actor and dubbing artist in the movie. That, in turn, improved his role in the movie. “Like Vikrant (Massey) is much better in the dub. He is a much better actor in the film also, in that sense, much more nuanced in that sense,” Arjun stated.

During dubbing, Arjun was supposed to do better, struggled to get the dialect correct. He also disclosed that he had scheduling issues when the movie was being made, which made it much harder for him to provide his finest performance. But he views the entire situation as a teaching moment.

Mohit Suri directed Half Girlfriend, which came out in 2017. It was based on the well-known book of the same name by Chetan Bhagat. Shraddha Kapoor, who portrayed Arjun Kapoor’s romantic interest Riya in the movie, costarred with him. Shailesh, Kapoor’s roommate, is portrayed in the movie by Vikrant Massey. Chart-topping tunes notwithstanding, the movie wasn’t well-liked by viewers.
