Modi’s Quote in Sitaare Zameen Par: The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) reportedly requested that the producers of the Aamir Khan film make a few changes to Sitaare Zameen Par, including a quote from Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the opening disclaimer, days after the film was approved by the body without any cuts. The Censor Board’s suggestions for a few modifications to the film, which Aamir Khan found unacceptable, put the release of the movie, which was supported by the actor’s Aamir Khan Productions, in jeopardy.
CBFC Asks for Modi’s Quote in Sitaare Zameen Par:
Reports suggest that the superstar expressed dissatisfaction with the changes requested by the CBFC Examining Committee. As a result, the Revising Committee, headed by academic and theatre veteran Waman Kendre, reviewed the film recently. According to media sources, the Revising Committee asked the filmmakers to replace the names “Michael Jackson” and “Lovebirds” with alternative terms. They also advised substituting “Business Woman” and “Business Person” in the dialogue. In addition, the committee instructed the team to remove an image that included the word “kamal.” After the filmmakers made these changes, the CBFC granted Sitaare Zameen Par a U/A 13+ certificate. The RS Prasanna-directed film is scheduled to release on Friday, June 20.
