In an interview, Diljit confirmed that the movie was filmed in February. That was months prior to the devastating Pahalgam terror attack in April. That intensified India–Pakistan tensions and prompted film federations to boycott Pakistani artists. He added:

“Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shoot this in February. Now situation is not in our control. … Even when I signed film, everything was good. So if the producers want to release abroad, I support them.”

He did admit to the financial costs, commenting that the producers have “invested a lot of money” and “know there will be a loss” by not opening the film in India.

As for Hania Aamir, Diljit had praise for her professionalism and respect for each other. That he “really respects her work and her privacy,” and that their interactions were “to the point, nothing more.”.
