Rohit Bal, legendary fashion designer, has passed away at the age of 63 due after suffering sudden cardiac arrest . Rohit was known for his gender-inclusive designs and traditional-modern fusion. Indian celebrities mourn the passing of iconic fashion designer.

Rohit Bal , Indian’s most celebrated fashion designer, left everyone in shock and tears with his sudden passing just a day after Deepavali. Rohit hailed from Kashmir and has a strong connection to it, which is reflected in his design. On November 1, 2024, Rohit died after suffering heart attack. Fashion Design Council confirmed the news and said that had been admitted to Aashlok Hospital in Safdarjung Enclave and was being treated by Dr Alok Chopra. 

Indian film fraternity mourns the loss of the legendary designer, actress Sobhita Dhulipala and Aditi Rao Hydari recently took to their social media accounts and expressed heartfelt condolences. Aditi Rao Hydari posted a photo of Rohit Bal on her Instagram story, captioned “Rest in style. Rest in beauty. On the other hand, Sobhita Dhulipala uploaded a photo of Bal and wrote, “Rest in peace Rohit Bal, you path-breaking, gentle-hearted maverick! I wish you peace and joy on your journey into the beyond.”

Rohit Bal was an Indian fashion designer, known for his designs catering to both men and women. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History from the St. Stephens College of the University of Delhi. He studied fashion through a short course at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, and also later taught students at the Institute as guest faculty.

 In 2020, he was recognized as Iconic Fashion Designer of the country by the jury of the Rajnigandha Pearls India Fashion Awards. His last fashion show was the Lakme X Rohit Bal Grand Finale on 13 October 2024. Only two weeks ago, Rohit presented his final collection at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai
