Is Baby John a Remake
In a recent press event, Varun addressed the rumours about his upcoming film, Baby John being a remake of the Vijay’s Theri. He revealed that Atlee approached him regarding the film and he highlighted the changes in the geography of Baby John. He also acknowledged that Thalapathy Vijay’s Theri has been utilized as an adaptation rather than a straightforward remake. This statement opens a new side, as it’s not a remake but the story of Baby John is an adaption of the Tamil super hit Theri.
Varun Dhawan said, As you see, a lot of the frames and a lot of the story angles are different. So, if someone comes in expecting a book-by-book remake, they will be disappointed because that’s not what the film is. It’s an adaptation. We’re not running away from that, but it’s more of an adaptation.” He further added that Baby John is a modern take on parenting and highlights the safety of women in India. Varun also revealed that the story is based on the real-life incidents.
