This casting marks the screen debut of Kajal Aggarwal and Yash, who will create buzz among each of their fan bases. Kajal, whose stardom in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema has been established, recently appeared in Salman Khan’s Sikandar. Her inclusion brings another ingredient of talent to otherwise A-list-cast Ramayan cast.
Mandodari: A Critical Role
Mandodari, the wise and righteous queen of Lanka, is one of Ramayana’s most core characters. Her kindness and unwavering devotion to her husband even if he is not perfect are such positive traits that command respect. Having a veteran actress play a role like this underscores how critical this character is to Tiwari’s narrative.
An Epic Production in the Making
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan will be a two-part epic film, which will be made by Namit Malhotra and Yash. Part one will be out on Diwali in 2026, and part two will be out on Diwali in 2027. The film has an extremely starry cast, with Ranbir Kapoor essaying Lord Rama. Sai Pallavi essaying Sita, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG is handling the visual effects so that the epic is presented in visually dazzling form.
As reported by sources, Kajal Aggarwal had recently undergone a look test and has already started shooting scenes as Mandodari. Producers are now shooting scenes of Lanka of Raavana. Even though Sakshi Tanwar was reportedly earlier brought on board for the role, now it seems that Kajal had taken up the role of queen of Raavana. An official word from the producers has yet to be released, but this piece of news has surely increased the buzz for this epic film project.
