Mufti Abdul Qavi’s Shocking Statement on Aishwarya Rai: A recent video of Pakistani cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi became viral and sparked gigantic outrage on social media. Qavi’s comments about the Bollywood persona Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were made in controversial circumstances that have netizens reeling, initiating a series of criticism and discussion about the cleric online. Qavi said that should Aishwarya and her husband Abhishek Bachchan ever part ways, she would send him a proposal, a statement many considered to be ridiculous, disrespectful, and attention-seeking.
In the video, Mufti Abdul Qavi stated he had “heard” there are problems between Aishwarya and Abhishek and that, should they split, Aishwarya would “send him a proposal.” He claimed to want the couple to stay together but went on to state some self-importance about him marrying the actress only if she were to “convert into Islam.”
Qavi further went to say that he would like to change her name to “Ayesha Rai” and enjoy writing to her new name, making the backlash stronger. When the question of marrying a non-Muslim was raised, he brought up Rakhi Sawant’s name-and to justify his comments, he referred to her conversion to Islam and name change to Fatima.
Social media users have heavily condemned Qavi’s remarks, labelling them inappropriate, delusional, and purely aimed at getting attention. Many noted that this is not the first time he has made such seditious comments-he had earlier publicly declared his intention to marry Rakhi Sawant, provoking a controversy.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have never confirmed any marital issues amid such recurring speculation. In fact, the couple’s recent public appearances show otherwise. Aishwarya attended the Cannes 2025, wearing sindoor, symbolic of conjugal bliss; they also celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary in April 2025. Zinta shared an adorable family picture with Abhishek and Aaradhya.

Earlier, Abhishek had publicly thanked Aishwarya and their daughter following his success in a major award, attributing that success to their support.
Mufti Qavi’s statements seem absolutely baseless and provocative, adding to uncalled controversies. Meanwhile, Aishwarya and Abhishek continue to make a strong family front, downplaying the rumors through actions rather than through verbal statements.
