Ranbir Kapoor Reacts to Backlash Over Animal: Is He Missing the Mark? Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy shooting his upcoming film Love and War. But the actor is always on the news with many controversies. For the past year, Ranbir Kapoor has been mocked by fans and critics for his film Animal with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Now the Animal actor responded to the criticism and revealed why he chose to play the role.
In a recent gathering at the ongoing 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Ranbir addressed the backlash he faced for his films Animal (2023) and Sanju (2018). The actor said that his movies showcased that anything can be achieved with violence. We couldn’t agree more that the world is much more violent than in film. He also confessed that these kinds of movies should not be made. But he praised the good story of the films.
The Animal actor said, “I completely agree with your opinion. As an actor, it is our responsibility to bring movies which bring a positive change to the society. Having said that, I’m an actor, it’s very important that I also dabble in different genres and different characters and play varied roles. But what you are saying is absolutely correct. We have to be more responsible towards the kind of films we make.”
Directed by most controversial director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film strars Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The film also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Tripti Dimri. Animalreceived great negative reviws from fans and critics for its Violence, toxic traits of masculinity and exploiting misogyny.
Sanju directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Features Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt. This film Sanju is made based on the real life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Datt. The film also featured Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza and Jim Sarbh.
