Sadhguru Defends Ranbir Kapoor Casting as Lord Ram in Ramayana

Sadhguru Defends Ranbir Kapoor Casting as Lord Ram in Ramayana

Sadhguru Defends Ranbir Kapoor: Ranbir Kapoor has come into the limelight as he would now be seen playing Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s epic Ramayana. The film is one of the most ambitious productions in India, and it has had its share of controversies. There have been doubting voices on social media about the appropriateness of Ranbir for such a divine character due to his public image and past film choices.

In the raging controversy, spiritual guru Sadhguru came to stand by the actor, asking people to look beyond past judgment and be concerned with acting as an art of transformation.

Sadhguru Called the Criticism ‘Unfair’

He confronted the Ramayana controversy during a recent dialogue with producer Namit Malhotra, defining the backlashes as ‘an unfair judgment.’ He stated: “It is an unfair judgment to judge an actor for roles he has played in the past. Acting is all about transformation. You cannot expect Ranbir to turn Ram in real life. He may even play Ravana another day in a different movie-such is the beauty of performance.”

Certainly, a reminder that cinema is about versatility; the work of an actor is to shine by becoming someone else-not an actor defined by his life or previous character he played.

Sadhguru with Namit on Yash as Ravana

The dialogue also darted about Yash playing Ravana, a casting choice that has become buzzing with excitement and intrigue. Sadhguru smiled and said, “Yash is a handsome man.” Namit added that Yash had the charm and emotional depth for all shades of Ravana-from devotion to rebellion.
