Shah Rukh Khan told DW that my director’s mother, my wife and my younger son were all in an interview at the launch of the film Ashoka. The rest of the crew had to fly to Toronto four hours before us. The news that came after this was shocking. We and Karan Johar’s mother were shocked. This revelation left SRK’s fans in deep shock.
Shah Rukh Khan said, ‘We woke up, Karan’s mother showed us the TV and we thought this is the plane that our crew was going to take, that’s why she was showing us this news. Just before we could leave, a terrible accident happened. The media people came downstairs to my room; they wanted to interview me, and I was like what happened?’
SRK told that we were stuck, but people understood and supported us because we were with our mother and children. I got stuck there with my family for 3-4 days. Then we made our way, first we went to Toronto and came back from there. All the routes to leave America were closed. Then we asked for special permission and they understood. The reason for that was that we had our mother and children with us. This is how we were able to leave. I think I was very impressed by this. As was everyone.
