Shah Rukh Khan reportedly replaced director Sujoy Ghosh with his Pathaan director Siddharth Anand for his upcoming dream project, King.
Initially, Kahaani fame Sujoy Ghosh came on board to direct Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King, but now it is reported that the actor is directing the project. According to a report in Pink Villa, Pathaan director Siddharth Anand has been roped in to direct Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action thriller, King.

Earlier it was reported that Siddharth Anand would oversee King’s action sequences, but now he has reportedly been given the complete responsibility of the project. Shah Rukh and Siddharth Anand are among the biggest combinations for Hindi cinema and are all set for a reunion on King. Now King Khan fans are eagerly waiting for the Pathaan reunion.
Reports revealed director Siddharth Anand and his team have done several rounds of recce all across the globe and designed path-breaking action sequences with stunt directors having international fame. King will have the most explosive action ever in Hindi cinema. Every character will have a great arc.”

It is further said that the makers are looking to cast a star heroine, and Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand are extremely happy with how the script of King has shaped up and are now ready to roll with it by March 2025. It’s a 6- to 7-month schedule, planned all across the globe, and the makers are committed to bringing the film to the big screen in 2026.
The action thriller stars Shah Rukh with his daughter Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan as the the antagonist. It is said that Shah Rukh aims to release his action thriller King on Eid 2026 but yet to make an official announcement about the film’s cast and release date.
