The Diplomat, starring John Abraham, has released a teaser. S. Jaishankar, India’s current External Affairs Minister, opens the video by outlining the responsibilities of a diplomat. The film is scheduled for release in theaters on March 7, 2025. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, John Abraham (JA Entertainment), Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl (Wakaoo Films), and Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma, and Rakesh Dang (Fortune Pictures/Seeta Films).
The scene then switches to John Abraham questioning someone in a room while wearing a dapper suit. In the teaser, John is seen conversing with a distraught Muslim woman who identifies herself as an Indian national. Her words are interrupted by John’s character, who gives her a drink of water and cautions, “Don’t try to hide anything, or it might get difficult for you.”
Sadia Khateeb portrays Uzma Ahmed, an Indian woman stuck in an unhappy, forced marriage in Pakistan, while John is based on the real-life Indian diplomat JP Singh. There are glimpses of John negotiating crucial talks in Pakistan in the trailer.
John Abraham posted an undisclosed Instagram post on February 6 that included hints about the film, including the terms “diplomacy winning” and “weapon failing.” “Diplomacy wins where weapons fail!” he wrote in his note.
John previously unveiled The Diplomat’s debut appearance on January 16. He wore a stylish suit and had his trademark chevron moustache on the billboard. “Honored to bring this story of courage and diplomacy to life,” he said as the caption. Sadia Khateeb, Revathy, Kumud Mishra, and Sharib Hashmi all play important roles in the Shivam Nair (Naam Shabana)-directed and Ritesh Shah-written movie.
